- CMFormat: A Program for Formatting Any Floppy Disk by Charles F. Martin
-
- Usage:
-
- CMFormat is a simple, quick menu-driven program for formatting disks
- in IBM-standard double- or high-density formats in 5.25" or 3.5"
- drives. It verifies each track as well as the boot sector, initial
- FATs and root directory table. It positively obliterates all data
- on a previously formatted disk, and does NOT have "unformat"
- capability. It will check for an existing format before it starts
- formatting each disk, and if it finds a boot sector, it will warn
- the user about the destruction of data, and ask for confirmation to
- proceed.
-
- Running:
-
- At the DOS system prompt, just type CMFormat. Menus will ask for
- which drive (A or B are the only choices), and (if more than one
- density is available) which density [D(ouble) or H(igh)], and will
- then prompt the user to insert a disk and press Enter to start
- formatting. After formatting the disk, CMFormat asks if the user
- wants to format another disk in the same drive/density, and, if not,
- if the user wants to format another disk in a different
- drive/density. If not, CMFormat exits to DOS.
-
-
- Registration:
-
- CMFormat is distributed as Shareware. It is not "freeware" or
- public domain software, but is made available to you, the user, for
- evaluation under the Shareware principle of "try before buy".
-
- If you use CMFormat regularly, you are requested to register your
- copy. Registration fee is $5.00, and may be remitted to:
